Carrying out passages on farms participating in the project – Ecological Potential Index (IPE)

The IPE tool brings together the last three parts of the diagnosis. It is inspired by a protocol of the same name set up by the National Museum of Natural History in order to assess the potential for biodiversity and ecological functionality of an anthropized environment. It has three main components:

  • standardized inventories (chronoventary) to record invertebrates present on farms.
  • the counting point inventory method is used for the census of birds present on farms.
  • mapping of habitats and flora species is carried out to assess the ecological potential of farms.
